Cincinnati Dance Academy Rules
Evaluation and Placement
The Cincinnati Dance Academy (CDA) offers dance classes from Creative Movement to Advanced Levels. All students attending CDA are required to attend a placement audition prior to enrolling in class. The purpose of the placement audition is to evaluate the student on an individual basis, determine the student's strengths, weakness and the level that best suits their needs and ability. Each of our student is an individual: they will progress at their own rate of excellence. Graduation to the next level is based on a student's ability to execute the technical requirements of that level.
During the last weeks of II & IV quarters each student will be evaluated by their primary teacher. This evaluation is meant to help students mark their progress and strengths, as well as areas needing improvement.
Tuition and Registration
Students must register at the beginning of the school year. Registration fee is $20.00. Students wishing to enroll after the 1st class will be accepted depending upon class space. After the third week of classes, tuition will be prorated accordingly. All payments and fees are due the first week of each quarter. A late fee of $10.00 will be charged. Schedule and faculty subject to change without notice.
Refund Policy
There are no refunds on student withdrawals.
Student Code of Conduct
- Students are expected to arrive on time for class. Late arrivals not only disrupt class, but also increase the late student's risk of injury.
- Students will help their parents out by being ready to go to dance class by the time parents are ready to leave their home.
- Dancers show respect for their teacher and the art form they are learning by being properly dressed and ready for class on time; listening when the teacher speaks; being prepared for their turn; always asking before leaving the room for any reason; applauding their teacher at the end of class after they do their reverance.
- Dancers show respect for the studio by not bringing gum or food - including bottled water - in the studio. Do not leave band-aid wrappers, toe tape, gum wrappers, or clothing, in the studio or dressing rooms. This is unsanitary and will not be tolerated. Always clean up after yourself.
- Students show respect for themselves by being dressed appropriately for class. Shoe strings should either be tucked in or tied in a knot and cut off. No jewelry allowed. Hair must be in a bun. For 6 years olds and under, a bun is preferred.
- No wearing street shoes on the marley dance floor; no touching the mirrors - a very important safety issue.
- CDA reserves the right to dismiss any student whose conduct, attitude, or attendance is unsatisfactory. Tuition will not be refunded.
Studio Rental For Private Lessons
- During regular business hours the following charges will be made for studio time. These prices do not include the teacher's charge for private lessons. Each teacher determines his/her own rate for private lessons. Studio charges:

- CDA teachers giving private lessons to non-affiliated individuals: $35.00/hour
- Charges must be paid in full prior to the rental date. To arrange for studio time, call 513.985.0111.
