Early Childhood Programs:

2 year-olds through Pre-Kindergarten

Kinder Dance for 2 year-olds

A 45 minute dance and fitness class geared for 2 year-olds will be held once a week at your daycare center. The class will consist of dance activities that allow for young children to express their imagination and creativity, experience basic rhythm, explore balance and coordination and learn to follow directions. It also teaches fitness habits at an early age. Movement activities are know to aid in the development of a child's intellectual and perceptual skills.

Class instruction includes warm ups, simple dance routines related to a song or story, locomotor skills (skipping, hopping, galloping, etc.), basic balance skills and obstacle course sequencing.

Children need to wear comfortable clothing such as t-shirts, shorts or leatard, footless tights and socks.

This is a great opportunity for parents who are unable to get their child to activities due to their work schedule. Parents will be kept informed by information posted on the bullitin board of thier child's progress, class activities and special notices and reminders. Observation will be held and parents will be given several weeks notice in order to make arrangements with their work to attend this special occasion.

Rhythmic Gymnastic Program
for 3 - 4 year-olds, Pre-Kindergarten

Rhythmic gymnastics is one of the most beautiful and precise of Olympic sports. It is a combination of the dynamics and flexibility of gymnastics, the grace of ballet and dance, and the difficulty of working with various equipment. Hand-eye coordination and body movement are developed through the use of equipment such as rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbons. Routines are choreographed to music and are performed either individually or in groups. The benefits of rhythmic gymnastics to girls in their formative years include physical fitness, positive discipline and sefl-esteem, lasting friendships, team skills, fun and a healthy lifestyle that will remain with the gymnast for life.

Class instruction includes warm ups, stretching, locomotor skills (skipping, hopping, jumping, galloping, etc.), obstacle course sequencing, working with hoops, ropes and various size balls for hand-eye coordination. Basic acrobatic and balance beam skills will be taught as well.

Children need to wear comfortable clothing such as t-shirts, shorts or leotard, footless tights and socks.
