The Cincinnati Dance Academy

Mission

We consider the School to be the foundation and lifeblood of Cincinnati Dance Academy Youth Ballet Ensemble, Next Generation Dance Co and Cincinnati Dance Academy Competition Team. Through discipline, dedication and persistence, we will strive to prepare students to become responsible, contributing members of our community.

The Cincinnati Dance Academy was founded in 1997 by Tatyana Makarova to provide a creative home for young bodies, minds and spirits. Ms. Makarova's experience guiding young dancers from the first steps to stage premieres has helped make the Academy one of the best schools in Cincinnati.

The Academy's expert faculty seeks to make an art of the natural joy in movement found in every child. Programs distill the cutting edge experience of the Cincinnati Dance Academy Youth Ballet and the Next Generation Dance Company, offering balanced instruction in Vaganova Classical Ballet, Modern Dance and Movement Improvisation.

The Academy's objective is to foster not only "the thinking dancer", but self-directed and physically confident young performers.
