Elementary School
Dance & Fitness Program
A one hour class for girls and boys ages 6 and older will be held once a week at your child's school. The class will include a variety of dance related subjects, basic acrobatic and balance beam skills and fitness activities geared toward fitness (basic Pilatis).
Class instructions includes warm ups, stretching, basic skills in dance and jazz, choreographed routines, improvisation and movement exploration, basic tumbling (cartwheels, handstands, etc.), balance and coordination.
Rhythmic Gymnastic Program
Rhythmic gymnastics is one of the most beautiful and precise of Olympic sports. It is a combination of the dynamics and flexibility of gymnastics, the grace of ballet and dance, and the difficulty of working with various equipment. Hand-eye coordination and body movement are developed through the use of equipment such as rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbons. Routines are choreographed to music and are performed either individually or in groups. The benefits of rhythmic gymnastics to girls in their formative years include physical fitness, positive discipline and sefl-esteem, lasting friendships, team skills, fun and a healthy lifestyle that will remain with the gymnast for life.
Class instruction includes warm ups, stretching, locomotor skills (skipping, hopping, jumping, galloping, etc.), obstacle course sequencing, working with hoops, ropes and various size balls for hand-eye coordination. Basic acrobatic and balance beam skills will be taught as well.
Children need to wear comfortable clothing such as t-shirts, shorts or leatard, footless tights and socks.
This is a great opportunity for parents who are unable to get thsir child to sctivities due to their work schedule. Parents will be kept informed by information posted on the bullitin board of thier child's progress, class activities and special notices and reminders. Observation will be held and parents will be given several weeks notice in order to make arrangements with their work to attend this special occasion.

Class instructions includes warm ups, stretching, basic skills in dance such as jazz, hip hop, swing, aerobics, choreographing routines, improvisation and movement exploration, balance and coordination.
Children need to wear comfortable clothes such as T-shirt, shorts or leotard, footless tights and socks.
This is a great opportunity for parents who are unable to get their child to activities due to their work schedule. Parents are kept informed by information posted on the bulletin board concerning their child's progress, class activities and special notices and reminders. Observation days are held and parents are given several weeks notice in order to make arrangements with their place of work so that they may attend this special occasion.

Physical Benefits…
Physically, the general conditioning that ballroom dancing
provides will benefit students in many ways. If they practice
regularly, they will build stamina equal to that of soccer players
or runners. They will acquire far more lasting physical stamina
than football or baseball players.
Mental Benefits…
Mentally students will find great satisfaction in the achievements afforded by dancing - whether as a "great dancer" in social situations, or participating in a hotly contested competitions. Students are greatly drawn to competition endeavor. Unknown to most, dancing offer keen and top-grade competition in formation teams, team matches, and couple dancing. Ballroom dance teams usually include top academic leaders of the school. Ballroom dance clubs provide a great social network in a controlled environment that is free of smoking, alcohol, and drugs. Regardless of student's age, dancing will be an excellent learning experience in discipline, achievement, assuredness, and self-confidence.
Social Benefits…
As a dancer, students will find themselves much appreciated at social functions and always popular. This will build "social confidence". Ballroom dancing, a valuable lifetime social skill, will provide much joy and be useful during entire life. It is a skill to be learned, practiced, used frequently, and treasured.
A one hour class will include learning and practicing Ballroom Dance - American Smooth and Latin Dance - American Rhythm for beginners. In American Smooth students will learn and practice basics of the waltz and tango. In American Rhythm students will learn and practice basics of the cha-cha and swing. At the end of the year it will be a showcase or competition.
