The language of dance is different from other theatrical events. For an audience to more fully understand that language they need to start young and with an open imagination. "The Bluebird" teaches us to pursue a dream and to cherish our friends.

The story is about Fredrick and Katrina, brother and sister, who are very poor, go to bed on Christmas Eve and dream of miracles. They are awakened by a Fairy who gives Fredrick a magic flute and everything around them changes. The clock starts to dance. Bread, fire, water and sugar come to life. And their toy dog and cat come to life as well. The Fairy sends them all on a search for "The Bluebird". But where can they find her? Maybe she hides in a Mysterious Forest where the wood creatures live. Or maybe she could live in the land of Memory with their Grandparents. They come to the Kingdom of Night but the Queen of Night does not want to open her secrets. She sends disease and war to kill them but the Soul of Light saves them. The children see a lot of bluebirds but how can they find the real one?

People say you cannot catch The Bluebird. But maybe that's not true. Let's continue to look and repeat with Fredrick and Katrina, "We go to find The Bluebird."
